Rat rods are cool & fun. 8) I think you are on the right track. I did not know the scope of the project and its more obvious now that you are very accomplished. But wow who has built cars for years & never messed with a sbc & a th350? Well maybe I'm getting older.. my boys haven't & their grown & graduated. :shock: 😳 🙂 When she comes together post us up some pics with an update.

In time my friend in time. The project car is one that I personally wanted to do for the Chevy 100 year anniversary .
The engine was purchased dirty and spent. It is from a 79 Camaro 2 bolt main. I never had the chance to build a true hotrod.
I've dealt mostly with Ford trucks, Chevy trucks, Mazda Miata's, Geo Metro, Mercury Montego, Even VW beatles.
The monte has had it's time with being stock. It was the perfect Rat Rod project car. Not too far gone to fix up but yet not
too perfect either. Not looking for a concourse car here. Not into judges with Microscopes looking for fine line scratches in the paint. Here is a run down on the mods this car has. And please understand that every dollar of this build has been funded from the sale of Teflon Window guide kits for Mazda Miata's.
355 cu in Small block, 0.030" over, Stock crank, Rods, Keith black Pistons, Melling HV pump, Roller tip rockers, H.P coated push rods, New Lifters, Comp Cams mild street grind cam, Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, Blue printed HEI distributor, Shorty headers, Dbl roller timing chain, New Valves, seals, Springs, 3 angle valve job, new water pump, new radiator, new Trans oil cooler, Modified drive shaft, Rebuilt TH 350 trans, New wheels and tires ($1500) , New Carpet, New door sills, All new gages, New rear tail lights, Additional 59 Caddy Tail lights, Bullet LED marker lamps, LED turn signals, 92 Dodge stealth hood bulges, 2.5" high riser hood scoop with cowl induction, all new brakes rotors, drums, New Patriot Sidepipes, New Seat belts, New U joints, All belts and hoses are new, All rubber weather strip is new. Freshly painted

I know the car is not perfect but a lot of time and effort mostly done by me went into this car to make it very special.
No others look like this one. I have about $2500 in the car minus the Labor. About a year since the tow truck delivered
it bone stock to the driveway. So far I've driven it about 20 miles. Still working out all the little details.
Looking forward to giving some advice and getting some in return...
