ok got some time to get under there and take a look. my cable won't reach the transmission. here are some pictures of where the cable comes out and how far it reaches. The cruise control has been taken off as well.....

What do you guys think i should do?? i need another two feet or so to hook it up....

Early cruise-control equipped cars use a 2-piece cable. 1 goes from the speedo to the cruise unit mounted on the wheel well, and then the other goes from there to the trans.

You either need to swap to a non-cruise cable, or get the stock cruise unit and second cable back on.

The cable I order from o'rileys was for an oldsmobile I to have a th350, the car used to have the 200c but the cables are the same .

alright i got the speedometer fixed woohooo!!! now i just have to find a radar sign and see if it's close to accurate.
