Spindle Options

As for where this leave me, I’m not sure.

I really want the c7 hubs, but I’m not thrilled about needing to use slide pin calipers (especially since these Brembos look so good) but I’m considering it. Buying the 12.6 calipers isn’t something I’m interested in either, mostly due to price. I’m going to email Scott from BBU to see if he thinks an adapter bracket can be made for these spindles based on his Blazer brackets before a send these back to Summit.

Still want these brakes, so I’m going to modify my stock spindles. Just need to see about Wilwood hubs for them.

Scott emailed me back overnight, and made me an offer that has me stuck again.

He’s offered to take the CPP spindles in and measure them out for brackets to relocate the caliper mounts to the proper location.
Worst case is I’m out the shipping cost, but being able to actually use these things with what I have is tempting.

Grabbing a 12.6” Brembo might not be possible as they’re all special order no matter what parts store I’ve checked, so it’ll be a hassle to send those back if they don’t fit correctly.

Bottom line for me is I’m still after this bearing pack and future proofing my car, as we all know the Blazer spindles are a finite resource and being made for only 4 years, it won’t be much longer before the replacement parts get discontinued either. Stock G body stuff will always be around, but I’m concerned over bearing quality over the next few years due to this country’s current administration (do not comment on that please) and their insistence on trade wars. Plus, if you want Brembos, you need Scott’s hubs. I haven’t asked him, but he does something different for the rotor hat offsets, C5/6 rotors are 1.8” hat depth, and C7s are 2.010”. That’s enough to require a spacer under the hub if you use Wilwood’s G body hubs.

Decisions, decisions, decisions….
