I was looking on ebay and ran across a spoiler that was listed for a cutlass but it was off of a third gen Trans Am. The poster said it's a perfect fit for the early 80's cutlass. Is this true? If so I'm going to order one. Thanks

perfect I am not sure but there are A LOT of G-body Cutlasses running around with F-body spoilers on the trunk - they do fit

Well hell thats a good thing, God I love GM. I'm going to pick one up this week then, I think that'll make the *ss end of the car look a whole lot better. Thanks!

I think the F-body spoilers taper to the rear compared to the straight lines of the Cutlass. The one I saw also needed some stilts because the tips of the spoiler were almost on the quarters. Just something to keep in mind.

You must lengthen the "legs" as the F-body spoiler fits much lower and closer to the car in part because the lower body lines on the side of Fbody cars. Not to disuade you only to make sure you understand its not bolt on and fabrication will be required.

Yes, you either have to lengthen the pedestals or shave down the ends of the spoiler since the Cutlass trunk dips down in the middle. To see what one looks like (with the first option), see my parent's '87 Cutlass here:

The angle of the spoiler tips compared to the quarter is also slightly off, but doesn't look too bad. Believe it or not, Hurst/Olds spoilers were actually Firebird spoilers with the ends cut off and new tips glued on to better fit the Cutlass body (this is why they have separate end caps).

I had one on my prev. Cutlass. They look a LOT better than the actual 442/Hurst spoilers in my opinion. They're curved a little and follow the contour of the trunk.

I just flipped my spoiler upside down and took a belt sander to the tips. I shaved them down until they fit perfectly over the fenders. I think it was easier to do and took less time than trying to fabricate spacers/lifters to lift the spoiler up higher.

By shaving the tips, it also keeps the spoiler closer to the trunk, making it look even hotter.

Check out 85_SS' car domain link. Mine looked just like that, minus the spacers

I know this is off topic but today I saw a 4-door cutlass with the spoiler off a 2000ish grand am bolted to the trunk. All i could do was laugh!
