If it's an '83 or '84 H/O, the Lightning Rods would probably bring another $350+. Chances are, the owner knows what he has.

What are lightning rods?

There some kinda shifter setup if I'm right. Don't know much about them personally except that it's a multiple shifter setup. Anyone else be able to explain a little better. I'm tryn to fill the database in my head w/knowlage  Pic's anyone?

My mom had a cutlass with these shifters in it when she graduated college ha i wish my parents would have kept that car

How does that setup work exactlly?

Then she didn't just have a Cutlass, she had an '83 or '84 H/O!

The lever on the left works like a regular shifter, operating Park, reverse, neutral, overdrive, and drive.

With the left shifter pulled all the way back into drive, pulling the middle lever will put it in 2nd.

Then pull the right lever to put it in 1st.

So now you hit the gas, push the right lever for your 1-2 shift, then push the middle lever for the 2-3 shift, and then the left lever for the 3-4 shift.

They're kinda fun as long as they're working correctly, and they sure look cool.

Too bad they didn't use that shifter in more applications! that would have been cool in my GP!

I'm surprised something like that ever made it into production. I'm sure bean counters put a quick end to something that might be "fun" for a few people. Bean counters and trial lawyers, the scum of society.
