Stall converter question

I've got a fresh 406sbc with turbo 350 trans to shove into my malibu. Cam is a solid CS 294S-10 comp with .525 int/exh. lift, 6" rods and KB pistons (10.2:1 approx). The current rear is sick....2.42 gears but I want to put about 3.73 10bolt in its place. Any ideas on a good brand of converter and stall speed?

looks like nice gear, bit expensive. Have you used parts from them before?

Personally, no. I have read a lot about them and have spoken to people that have used their gear and I haven't seen any complaints about them.

At the very least their site will help you choose the converter specs you need.

U mean the 8.5" 10 bolt, right? I hope. The 7.5" won't hold up if u run it hard, especially when u throw slicks on it. Street driven with regular tires should be OK.

8.5 for sure....the 7.5 would explode. I want to be able to beat it without worry. I just like the 8.5 10bolt because they're relatively cheap with posi and bolt right in. A ford 9" would be great but I don't want to put that much coin into it yet.

stall speed

i have an 83 malibu wagon with a 383stroker that has a similar cam and i am running a 2800 to 3200 stall. on drag radials and 4.10 gears it seams streetable and works really well.

8.5 for sure....the 7.5 would explode. I want to be able to beat it without worry. I just like the 8.5 10bolt because they're relatively cheap with posi and bolt right in. A ford 9" would be great but I don't want to put that much coin into it yet.

Relatively cheap? Where? I'm not finding any of them cheap(er) anywhere. 😢

i got a 9 inch that had all g body pearches and 4.10 posi with gm brakes on it for 1000 bucks. i just kept asking all the g body guys in my area and got lucky
