You said that you don't know where the transmission came from. It's possible that you got your hands on a variable pitch trans, which that converter won't work properly with.

Read this and let us know if that's what you do have:

Thanks for the info on the 400 but this is a th350 it has a universal bell housing no wires only a three speed detent on the inside I drove it to work today and the same thing happened when you completely stop a the stop sign and try to go you have to get the motor up to about 2800 then bang it spins the tires so I have to let off the gas and this with a cop across from me thank goodness he just laughed a me (it was funny since he didn't pull me over)

I'd be pulling trans away from the engine, yanking the converter & shipping it back to Jegs & tell them to stick it up their *ss & be demanding a full refund.
:x

yanking the transmission only is not an option for this car with the motor being set back two inches you pull the combo so I can live with it for now with 4.5 miles to the gallon it can stay in there for quite some time far as I'm concerned

If it ain't right, it ain't right. Why wait for a failure when its out of warranty. Replace it now before more damage is done.

well I contacted summit earlier and they said it might be becaus it was a street performance not a street/strip could be what I'm experiening (sorry can't spell)but doesn't explain it not grabbing sometimes oh and the transmission run right at 240 all the way to work and I kept it at 3000 for its maidan voyage out of the county in 8 years this thing is too loud drinks too much gas can't see out those vibrating mirrors this thing sucks can't wait to drive it tomorrow woohoo

yo brother first off nuetral dropping your transmission with a 2700 stall isnt verry smart! reason being if you dont have a heavey duty transmission thats set up for abuse like that it will come threw the floor with you~! verry dangerous~! i have a 2300-2700- stall on my 515hp sonny bryant motor im loosing maybe 30hp to the rear wheels i have a 79 chevy short box that turns low 11's with street tires~! and mid 10's with mt slicks~! ok enough of what i run--your stall isnt working as you wanted--that stall is desighned to stall at your rear motor tourque ftlbs~! it all boils down to how much the stall -stalls out at depending on how much tourque your motor is putting out meaning atleast a minimum of 250ftlbs of torque just to stall at round 1800to 2000rpm's---and atleast are you understanding where im going with this now? the more hp your motor puts out the more torque and stall you will get~! so dont neutral drop your transmission just power braking is suffice the tourque determines your flash point meaning your launch rpm~!!!

You did mean you contacted Jegs didn't you? Because that was a Jegs part # you listed for your converter.
