Hey, attempting to retrace how the wiring was hooked up on my engine. Curious as to what the stock manifold should look like, in terms of lines, carburetor, etc. My digital camera decided to not save my pictures, and i havent touched this thing in a month. Any pictures, as well as the stock sensor locations would be very helpful.

Engine?

Hah, sorry, got frustrated.

305. But really any small block can work. I'm trying to decipher how i am going to run vacuum lines, sensors, and all that jazz.

for the most part only one plug will fit in 1 sensor. gm was real good about making each one fit individually. is it a electronic/feedback carb. for the vac lines, do you have to pass emissions laws? did you look for the diagram in the engine compartment?

the diagram isnt there. i dont need to pass emissions laws, and im completely removing the computer. I bought the car without an engine... So I can't just use the trial and error method with a stock manifold that i took pictures of. running a edelbrock performer 600 cfm. installed my vac advance distributor.. everything else is ready to go. I just am clueless as to how i need to run vacuum lines... and where sensors need to go. I have wires with connectors and sensors just dangling in the compartment. So really... I have zero points for reference.

since you're getting rid of the computer it's easy you don't need any sensors.
run the large rear port of the carb to the brakes, the large front bottom one to the PCV, one of the small ones to the dist. advance, the other large front one to the carbon canister. and one of them goes to the egr if you're using it.
do you have the th350 or 200-r4 trans? if you have the 200-r4 you need to get the lock-up kit from Bowtie Overdrive in order to retain converter clutch control and keep temps down in the trans.

sweet. that sounds pretty simple actually. already have my lockup converter so thats not a problem, as for the lines.. that IS good news. Thanks for the help. I'm gonna keep searching for pictures of setups like that.. Ill keep you guys informed on how it goes.

if my car wasn't trapped by snow i'd get pics of it  i got rid of my ecm except for the timing control.

what are you using for lockup control?

actually i found a pic from when i had a e4me q-jet. you can see the two large hoses on the left side and above them is a capped off vac T that would have been connected to the distributor.

i got the TCI auto kit. I heard it was for the 700.. you just cant use some components. gonna switch rig it i think

hah, im not used to this small block stuff.. i come from the world of 80's Toyota 4 cylinders... which resembles more of a lawnmower engine than anything.

one problem you might have is that the ecm controlled trans uses a ground controlled solenoid and the non-ecm ones have a power controlled solenoid. the bowtie kit comes with a new power controlled solenoid and new pressure switch.
