so wow, i ordered my BTO kit now... im so tired of this project. Im trying to avoid as many hang ups as possible you know?

i've had so many hang-ups that i don't know what it is to move forward! :blam: right now i figure i'm 1-1.5 years behind schedule.
what engine are you putting in? what mods?
trust me though it's worth it when you first hear that engine go.

actually its just an 85 305 with a mild cam from an RV. bored .060 all the boring stuff. big focus is on the air suspension and stereo... that's my forte. sold my bagged HiLux because I got tired of cramped spaces... now I'm trying to get this thing running because I'm tired of bumming rides. I work out of town during the week, so I'm not hurting for wheels.. I just miss not being able to drive on my own time.

so when i remove the computer... do i have to keep any of the wiring running to the engine bay through the hole in the firewall?

what i plan on doing with mine in the spring is just making sure that every sensor is accounted for to the firewall and then cutting everything back. since you're not using the original distributor you can just pull the wires through and out.

the entire large harness on the pass side runing to the computer

rmeove it

all of it

you dont need a single wire of it

but if you have lockup torque converter type transmission then it will no longer function

you will have a large hole in the firewall cowl due to removal of the harness

this is the engine control harness

EST

ESC

regardless if carb or TBI or TPI

same location same harness size virtually and same size computer physically

good luck
