I pulled my v6 3.8 out of my regal and dropped in a stock v8 5.0 , i got it running on the fuel pump theirs two rubber lines and a metal one the metal goes to the carb one rubber is coming from the gas tank and the other one idk where it connects to it drips gasoline ive read its the return line but i cant find where it connects to i need help please

What year 3.8? Up to a certain year, 3.8 cars did not have a return line. You'd have to run your own return line, and install a hanger in the tank that has the middle tube to attach your return line to.

It is a 84 regal

Looks like a 3-line pump first appeared for the '85 3.8L (USA only, not Canada). So your '84 would lack the needed return line, and you'd have to add one somehow, along with a 3-line tank hanger (fuel gauge sender). I'm in the same boat with my '83. The tank I've dealt with. the line not yet.

An alternative might be to install a 2-line pump (if you can find one that fits your motor) and skip the return line. I believe the main purpose of the return line is to prevent vapor lock, but I've never had vapor lock and we get triple-digit summers here.
