I am starting to gather parts for a build. I have a 12 bolt from a 66 chevelle that i'm wanting to use. It should be 60" which is 2 inches wider than the gbody. would i need a 15x8 wheel with a 5.5 backspace to make this work. i'm wanting to run 255/60 15's. the reason for the 12 bolt is this is going to be a 560ish horse street car. so the 7.5 aint gonna cut the mustard haha.

thanks,
Perk

Never measured mine , but I am running a stock width 68 12 bolt in my Cutlass.

The rims are 15x10 with 6.5 backspace. With these I can get 30x9 radial in the stock wheelwell.

Maybe you can find the measurement of my rear on-line and work backwards from there.

The 1964-67 Chevelle housings measure 60.5 inches drum-to-drum. The 1968-72 housing measures 2 inches wider which would be 62.5 inches drum-to-drum.

thats the information i was going off of. i read somewhere else about flange to flange differences and it was still a two inch difference. i saw your info in the other thread and was trying to reverse engineer from that. seems like 4.5-5.5 would work.
