It happens here almost yearly when the Street Rod Nationals roll into town. When there is 10,000+ cars it makes for easy picking for thieves! There was a super nice 68 or 69 Camaro snatched a couple years back. It was handed down to the guy from his dad who was the original owner...that dude cried on TV asking people to help find it!

Seeing this sh*t pisses me off no end. F**kers should be caught and quartered. 😡
Nice cars....terrible loss. I feel sorry for the people who've lost their prize possessions.
The wagon looks like a Power Tour veteran according to the stickers on the windshield. It's sad that you can't take your car anywhere for the fear of some lowlife jacking it from you.

I was told a few cars get stolen at the Pigeon Forge Rod Run every year. Its like you have to stand guard with a gun all night long. Even cars in trailers get taken. That sucks.

Might be one of the reasons HRPT does not go through Albuquerque any more. They must have realized they'd likely run out of cars to film before the morning departure...

I got my F350 back, which really surprised me. Armored all the handles/locks while I was in the one door repairing the damage....

I know who took the yellow one, but I wont tell.................melloelky

Typical though, this happens at all of these events.

It's one of the reasons I stopped going to the ETown swap meet.

These mutts know your car is parked alone for hours.

It's easy pickings

Being a veteran of both Power Tour and Drag Week I cannot express enough to avoid telegraphing your car, plans and itineraries.

We all want the attention and kins-manship that this hobby brings. But, there are vultures watching your every move - and if you offer up too much information it just gets that much easier to case you out and victimize you.

Taking enhanced security measures will only get you so far. Make sure you have agreed value insurance on your stuff just in case.

Info from FB. This cars been around for quite a few years. The wagon and a real nice Monte SS were taken from hotel parking lots. F'n thieves,

This morning our 1983 Malibu Station wagon was stolen from the Courtyard by Marriott in Charlotte NC. If you see the vehicle in this picture 419-466-5103 We are traveling with Hot Rod Power tour this week.

No way they would have stolen this wagon from me. It wouldn't have left my sight. And screw the hotel room. I would have been camped out in the back with my anti theft device in hand. Lot of blood, sweat and tears make these cars what they are and for some low life with nothing better to do than try and snatch it up is just asking for an a$$ whippin. Not to mention it's heart wrenching to those effected. Insurance money is nice and all, but it doesn't replace a car in its entirety with scarce parts and all. Stealing horses back in the day would have got you strung up. This is no different and should be treated as such.
