Since my Century is my only car I was always worried about theft. I decided I could not replace the car for the price of an anti theft system. So I had a Viper system with back up battery and back up alarm installed. It came with a two way transceiver which shows if the system is armed and tells me if the car has been messed with or anything is opened and of coarse the alarm goes off and the ignition is disabled. If the system is somehow disabled by a thief the back up system goes off. The glass break feature alerts me if a window is tapped on. It has a little blinking light on the instrument panel to warm would be thieves when it is armed.

The problem I see with that is that no one pays attention to car alarms anymore. Most people don't even bother to look when they hear one.

But some of those features do have merit

I think lojack or similar is a good idea, as a 40 year old car (and car theft in general) is typically low priority to most law enforcement agencies. With tracking, it should make locating it a lot easier to have a chance at getting it back.

GPS doesn't work in a Sea Container.
But it does BEFORE it goes in the can. Not too many seaports in middle America

Just saying, use all the tools available...if deterrence doesn't get it, maybe some idea of where it went could help

Personally, I drive crap, and don't leave them unattended in sketchy areas like malls or theaters, so not terribly worried. YMMV

Easier than that- just unplug the distributor. The only problem is that the plugs are usually brittle, and the tangs break off.
To easy to plug in I want someone to work for it and be frustrated like me! On a side note the wire harness are available out there for the distributor from pertronix

shoot them!

Many years ago my friend got his truck, enclosed trailer with his Grand National in it. Stolen from the hotel while at the Buick GS Nationals in Bowling Green, KY.

That's so shitty! I live in Louisville and it happens every year when the Street Rod Nationals roll into town in August. It's sad, but thieves know it's damn near free picking!
