Glad to hear the car was recovered.

I'm really thinking about shaving the doors on mine and just have a backup lock somewhere on my GP.

God forbid I ever see someone attempting to steal my car. I have acres and acres of woods behind my house to hide what's left of them.

Actually, he was considering shaving the handles. Probably more so now that this slug damaged the area that keeps the lock cylinder from spinning in the door.

It sounds like they'd never find the remains of the perp back in your acreage... I like the way you think.

Bill, he did mention one of those removable Grant wheel hub kits. I think that's an excellent idea.

He did manage to find a replacement tilt column at the junkyard from an '83 Regal. Good score.

if you have a g body these really help

Thanks for the pic of the column collar set up. That looks like a nice one. I actually have one that I used religiously when I lived in NY. They're very effective. I will go back to using mine again.

Can I ask you where you got yours? My buddy might be interested in acquiring one.

Good advice, man!

When I bought my wagon from a guy up in New Jersy when he came out to show me the car he took one of those column collars off, he told me about how he had 3 or 4 g-bodies stole and now he always uses one.

And as for the grant removable hub kits, can you use one with a factory steering wheel?? I like my factory wheel but I would like to be able to remove it with the push of a button.

Good point. Yeah, I don't think you can use a stock wheel with that hub kit. I'll have to research that some more.

I'm glad I kept my column collar all these (20+) years. You can't let your guard down no matter where you live.

Yes, please keep me posted if you find anything that can use a stock wheel.

And your right, you can't be to careful no matter where you live. I park my wagon on a hill and its sandwitched between my daily driver and my sisters car. So unless your superman, your not gonna push it...and maybe i'll start parking it with the exhaust cut outs open  that way it will wake the whole neighborhood if someone tried to start it.
