i noticed last night after getting off work my transmission was making a strange noise when i stopped at a light.
The noise sounds like the car is rolling and its being thrown into park. :? It only does it when the rpm is below 1000.
Any info will be appreciated...

Can you be any more specific? I don't think many of us are familiar with the sound of throwing a car into park while it's rolling. Grinding, a metallic sound, or what?

I had this happen before, check the U-joints. It may sound weird but I noticed a grainding noise and when I replaced the front U-joint it fixed it. Hope this helps . . .

Take off the bellhousing cover, start the car and see if you still hear it. I had that happen on the LeMans I used to have. It somehow got distorted and rubbed the flex plate. It sounded like a card in bike spokes.

Did you check for a straw in the fan blade??

I really doubt it is the trans making the noise. You can check the fluid and I would think you would notice a lot of metal in it if it was making that type of noise.

i have heard a funny noise like that before coming from a 200r4 before, i had kind of a buzzing noise only when i stopped it would buzz faster then go away once i started to drive unfortunately i don't know what it was, just figured i'd chime in to let you know at least you know your not crazy i was thinking maybe the torque converter maybe something came apart inside it. or maybe some bolts fell out of the valve body, i would defiantly check the torque converter bolts good place to start is do a nice visual inspection
