Stripped spark plug

Any suggestions I was changing my plugs today and number 3 came out easier than the rest but would not go back in

Can this be fixed without removing the head

Is this something easily done

Did any of the threads come out the head? I have used spark plug "thread chaser" in the past and it can be done with the engine assembled.

I got mine from oreilly auto parts. If you decide to use a thread chaser make sure you get the correct one for your application. If you can get a small mirror and check the actual condition of the threads in the head..

I found a thread chaser 14MM if this does not work what would be my next step

If the chaser doesn't work, you will have to drill it and put in a helicoil. If you can't get to it with a drill, then you would have to take the head off and drill it or take it to a machine shop. I don't think Ive ever messed the threads up in an iron head.

Thanks for the input. Ran the thread chaser in there 3 times and plug went in and car is running.

just for the future put some bearing grease on the chaser to collect any metal shavings from falling in the cylinder.
