oh and i almost forgot the most important one....top spedd belongs to the ultimate aero, the veyron is either number 3 fastest or number 4 so whats 2 and 3? 2 for sure is the hennessey venom viper(yep its street legal) and 4 is the callaway sledgehammer (not the new one those suck)
suppossedly, the world record for fastest street legal V6 belongs to a highly modified Buick 3.8

youre comparing a car from the 80s t one from 2004 thats faair  :blam:

Too bad a 1962 MG can out-corner a 2005 Mustang, assuming they are running on the same tires... :blam:

When the hell did I bring up horsepower, torque, or resale value? You're bringing up unrelated garbage because Americans can't build a sports car. I'm not talking about Vettes and Vipers, I'm talking about SPORTS CARS. Something light, agile, and relatively inexpensive, that any of us could afford. Apparently in America you have to spend $50k + before you get anything resembling a decent suspension. I don't know why I bother anymore, anytime someone points out that a fair majority of American cars are garbage one of you idiots will mention horsepower, patriotism, or Pearl Harbor.

While what you say is true, I would still rather have an American car over any foreign car (except for any non-muscle car or non-power wagon Dodge) Have you ever tried to work on a foreign car? Or even afford any replacement parts? It's a pain in the *ss no matter who you buy from. Besides... Americans are dumb rednecks who want to have fun driving some jalopy that has excessive toe-out, a seized up parking brake, no jounce but excessive bound suspension, and a steering wheel with 360 degrees of play in it. It's more fun.

On TopGear, they HATE American cars. In the above video, they put down the Corvette because of it's leaf-spring suspension, or it's plastic interior, or "clunky gearbox." But look at how much fun they had driving it!!! 😀 Sure it's crude, but that's why we love it! I mean, look at yourself. You're driving a G-Body 86 Cutlass with a 307. What sort of fine tuning does your car have to make it worth bragging about? none. It's a mid 80s product of the General. What more needs to be said? A 5.0L V8 that only puts out 145 horsepower, and gets 17 miles to the gallon. But something possessed you to buy it.

The Cutlass was one of the best selling cars of the 80s. And it's not because of the traction control, or Brembo shocks, or AWD, or Navigation, or direct injected motor. It's because it's a crude American muscle car, and that's what Americans love!!

I bet it does, also the worlds fastest 4CYL (as i last remember) was a highly modded neon SRT4

im no fan of jeremy clarkson either, yeah i remember the leaf spring situation and yet it was still able to beat other cars and IT WORKS, youre right he always has fun with our cars but rips on them.

i do own a foreign car (a truck actually) and its from 2003 my Tacoma's single oil change costs just under 40 bucks at toyota dealership (more like stealership) my 2006 dodge magnum has same size engine as my truck (tacoma=3.4L V6) my magnum (3.5L V6) my local dodge dealer gets the oil change done with other goodies for 18bucks. so i know its not the best of deal.
and youre right my friend, i love simple muscle cars, my LD5 pumps out only 115HP and under 200TQ (on the buick) but i just love the style of that car and thats why i got it, i know a civic can hand my *ss to me but i could care less simply cause I love this car.

You should try not posting drunk. I can barely read whatever the f*ck you just wrote there. If you read my post, (you can read, right? You sure as hell can't type) I pointed out that America has never built an affordable sports car for the masses like the British, Japanese, Italians, or Germans. Vettes and Vipers and great halo cars for Chebby and Chrysler but the fact is, guys like us can't touch them when they're new.

Have you ever actually priced parts fer one a dem ferrin jobbies? Every part for my '74 MGB and '78 Midget is available reproduction, and unless I want to get fancy, they OEM-spec stuff costs just about the same as it would on my Gutless. Working on British sports cars is easy, when you have to. My MGB sat for eight years and all it took was a fuel pump to get her going again. She's got 150,000 on the motor and I've never had the head off. Go take a look at one at a show when you get a chance. It won't bite you, steal your job, or even declare Jihad on you.

And remember, real cars don't have traction control... 😀

That's why the Z pulled away from the GN for a second and then ran out of steam, but the GN still was making more and more power.

Well, we don't know what HP/TQ the GN was making. Apparently the 350Z is at 412HP which means with the way the GN pulled on it, he had quite a bit more.
I don't believe this is a case for whether a supercharger or turbocharger is better for performance.

So my points are as follows:

1) America can not build an affordable, everyday sports car to compete with the Europeans and Japanese.
2) Most sports cars are no more expensive or difficult to fix than a G-body GM.

Show me where you proved me wrong, exactly? 😀
