i dont know if screw or centrifugal would work, youd have to mess with your manifold a little, maybe go turbo instead?

centrifigal will always work. check out companies like Vortec, banks, paxton...
but they aren't going to be bolt in and go. there's oil delivery, fuel and spark tune/mapping, intercooling, plumbing, etc. and the extra power may blow the engine if it's not rebuilt for it. but a supercharger is easier than a turbo.

procharger has its own oil, no need to punch a hole in yer oil pan, and making higher boost is a simple as changing out a pully. they also have different brackets to mount to and a universal bracket that has the bolt holes for the supercharger so you can make yer own mounting holes.

If your going turbo, just get a 3.8 GN engine. Seems that would be a lot easier to get up and running than trying to piece together a turbo for an engine that didn't originally come with one.

also brings the question can the transmission handle that kinda TQ?

depends on the trans and the total power, but a stock trans? doubt it. but a stage 2 from bowtie or the equivalent from CKperfomance or any other quality rebuilder? definitely. i say stage 2, cause i'm assuming a basic charger running 8psi and no intercooler. (based on the statement not to change heads) i'd assume a best of 50% more power, so that's what? 250hp and 300tq? a BRF with a shift kit should take that on the street, iffy at regular track beatings.
as to the cam, best thing to do is call a cam manufacturer, but forced induction doesn not need a big cam. you do want a dual-pattern cam with a longer exhaust duration as it's not under the same pressure as the (boosted) intake.

on top of the all mighty GN, Buick also put a supercharger on the 3.8.
Available in 90's Park Avenue Ultra for sure
as well as the 90's Pontiac Bonneville SSEI

Not quite plug N play but they came out of the factory like that. I know for a fact the 3.8 is bulletproof its just a 350 with 2 cylinders lobbed off. The pistons are the same. I 'think' the 4.1 is just a bigger (stroked/bored) version of the 3.8 they put into mini vans. Never messed with the 4.1 personally so someone who has should correct me if I'm wrong.

those were front drivers, but would the s/c still mount to the rwd 3.8?( just thinking on to the next abandoned project :blam: )

Actually, that's the 4.3 you're thinking about; the 3.8 is the Buick V6, totally different design...still a very strong motor though.

Sadly, no, not without a lot of aluminum welding skill. I've seen a 4th gen F-body somewhere that it was done, but the guy had to cut where the throttle body mounts and turn it 180 degrees.(EDIT: Found the link. You have to be a member of the site to see the entire thread, but the OP's avatar shows what he did to make it work)
Someone on TuboBuick.com took a supercharged 3800, put F-body heads and intake on it, and then attached the factory GN turbo system and ran an 11.357 quarter mile. Link to build thread
