Can anyone in this forum that has done a supercharged 80s model elcamino or an 80s model gbody car give me any ideas where to start or a total car setup that they have done that is untouchable and reliable???

Thanks,
Dan

I haven't seen anyone on the forum installing a supercharger. There are plenty superchargers out there and if you have a 350 there should be plenty of info on google

There is a member on here with a (B&M) supercharged small block Malibu. I'm sure he'll chime in if he sees this post.

I dont know about untouchable, but I had an 82 El Camino that I put over 50K miles on as a daily driver. It had basically a stock Qjet equipped 350 smog motor in it with a B&M forced induction on top of it. It got better mileage with the B&M on it than it did without it, idled and drove like a bone stock automobile, and pulled like a big block when you stomped on it. The B&M never required any maintenance at all. It was one of the nicest combos of power and reliability that I ever built.

I would look into a procharger. Its like a belt driven Turbo and would fit easily under the hood of a Camino. What motor does the Camino have? What is the need for Supercharging?

You can also Google ProCharger and Vortech. They both make superchargers, and may have kits. I know both have been used on G-bodies. Just don't know how much fabrication work is needed.

Does this question really require an answer?

If he's not getting the power he wants to enjoy his ride, a multitude of of things should be done before putting a blower on.

I guess it would depend on your power goals. And what style supercharger you want to run, ie. roots (single or dual carb?), or centrifugal? And do you plan to stay carb'd or go efi?
I'm running a small single carb roots now but i'm closing in on the power potential of it so i'm looking to go bigger.
