Okay, multi part question here. Appreciate your opinions.

Here is some background on what I want when I'm done with this car. It's an 83 Malibu wagon. I hope to have a car that can do in the low to mid 20mpg range @ 65mph cruise speed. On occasion I also haul a 5x10 utility trailer. Total max weight of trailer and load of 4000lbs. Tow mpg not a big deal as i don't tow that often.

My car now has a 305 with the CCC Qjet and 2:41 rear gears. I know this system has a lot of haters. I'm not one of them. I love Qjets and think I would enjoy working with this system. It also is working quite fine in the car now. Runs sweet. I would swap this system on to a 350.

Right now it's a gutless wonder with the 305/2:41 combo. I'm sure if I hooke a 4000lb trailer to it now, I'd have to open the door and kick with my foot, to help get it rolling.

I have a 3:42 rear for the car. I am also looking for a 200r4 trans as well. These mods would be done after this years season over the coming winter.

I also have a sweet runner of a 1995 TBI 350 from a G30HD cube van. My questions are........

1. Will the 1983 305 intake/brackets/CCC HEI dist/ etc all bolt to the 1995 350? I know at some point the SBC intakes have diffrent bolt patterns. Is this one of them?

2. Will MPG from the 350 vs 305 big a big deal in such a stock application. Again planned drivetrain for the swap would be 200r4/3:42's. I plan no mods to the 350 besides a true dual exhaust. Stock cam that came with the truck.

3. Will the CCC system trigger the 200r4 converter lockup with just a smiple plug in to existing wiring? Car now has just a 3spd auto trans that the CCC sytem locks the converter.

1: No the intake will not fit on the 95 block/heads, although some people have elongated intakes to fit on vortec heads. You can buy a intake that will fit for about 150$ new.
2: I would imagine that mpg with a 350, 200 4r & 3.42's should be 17-19 mpg
3: Unsure on this.

1. For 95 I don't think you have Vortec heads. Count the intake bolts on each side to be sure. If you have 4 bolts per side it's a vortec, 6 bolts is the older pattern used since 1987. The difference between 1987 and prior years is that the two middle bolts on either side of the intake are at a different angle as of 87. I have seen guys use the older manifolds on 1987 and up heads by using a longer bolt and an angled spacer for the middle holes.

2. 50 more cubes. More power, less mileage under most conditions. If it were me I would go for the cubes.

3. As long as your current car has a lockup (pretty sure it does), the CCC system won't know the difference between your old trans (probably a 200-C) and the 200-4R. I am pretty sure the connector will be the same, but I would double check to be sure. Maybe someone else can chime in who knows for sure.

Hope this helps.
