Im new here and in the middle of dropping in my 6.0 with a th400 in my 87 cutlass. I have the engine and transmission in the car but for some reason the motor mounts will not meet. I have the trans dapt 4595 set back plates and trans dapt 4233 solid motor mounts. Im using the truck pan as well. The pan is sitting on the crossmember and the driver side is lined up but the passenger side is not lined up at all. What mounts do i need or do i need to hammer on the transmission tunnel any help will help. I have a set of clam shell mounts but they look like they wont fit the set back plates the clam shells look to wide.

They make motor mounts for those motors to put in the older style cars the motor mounts on those engines are set back further

Did you notch the crossmember for oil pan clearence? i dont think the truck pan will fit without notching. I am using the f-body pan with Hooker 1 inch set back mounts, and factory car clam shells, and I still had to notch the cross member.

After seeing how low the truck pan sits i went ahead and ordered the cts-v oil pan and it will be here later this week. Im hoping that helps with the clearance and I will move the frame mounts back a hole. I have the frame mounts all the way forward so im only using three of the bolt holes on the frame mount. The power steering pulley was sitting on the gear box as well. Also what is the part number for the hooker mounts all I can find are ones that move the motor forward.
