On quick question what are the benifits of a carb spacer???? I have an open plenum spacer the i got for free with an edelbrock carb was it worth puttin on my car??? (by the way the car runs a hell of alot better with the new edelbrock of the quadrajet the the quad was made for a 350 and was installed on a 305)

This can increase or decrease the overall engine power, however a fuel injected one always increases power because it gives the air/fuel mixture more space to mix before being shot into the engine. Carbs are pretty much maxed out given the right intake manifold. For example, it could help in a stock manifold/carb situation, but definitely won't be noticeable with the right hi po carb/manifold combo.

k well i put it on and edelerbrock single plain intake, and its an edelbrock 650 cfm carb. It has notible improvement over the stock carb but i haven't tried without the spacer

Help me out here. How does a spacer under the throttle body provide "more space to mix" on a port-injected motor?

Everyone knows it gives more space to cool and on a TBI system it does just what I said it would, I didn't say anything about port injection (which you would have to be pretty dull to buy a spacer for).

And carb spacers don't do sh-t on stock engines, not nearly as much as a spacer on a fuel injected throttle body. I've tried many intake and exhaust combos on a number of engines. True, I don't know what I'm talking about with transmission's or rear axles but some stuff I do.

And Vern/Dan:

You should think before you post also. Thanks for the help from everyone though. I'll let y'all carry on as your forum was before.
