Sweet Deal on Super Stock Rims & Tires! Will they fit?

On my local craigslist a guy is selling his 15" super stock wheels with white letter tires for a steal. He said they came off of a 72 Cutlass but I'm not sure that these were even the original wheels. Also he wasn't sure of the offset/backspacing
The specs he could give were that the tires were 255/60/15

On closer look it seems to read 290/60/15 for the tires, yikes!

Would this work on my 86 Cutlass? Thanks so much!

Not sure if the tires will fit, my 84 cutlass came with similar rallye wheels. 14" with P195/75 R14's. I know my dad has 245's in the rear of his cutlass with no problems. 290's do sound a little big though.

The rears will fit a 255/60 no problem, and they're pretty much the same wheels that came on the '80s Cutlass. You may have issues if it's the same size for the front though.
