only stats i can find to run in my fresh sbc 355 is 160, 180, 195. now i already have a 160+195 but can't decide on which to put in. still got stockish water pump, best new hayden fan clutch, and the stock 3 core radiator flushed. probably switch to an electric fan next year. whats everyone run in theirs? oh yea, i'm up in the dakota country but car won't be driven in winter except as a last resort.

do you have aluminum heads or intake?
stock is usually a 180*, sometimes a 195*, as long as the cooling system is working well i'd try the 195 first and hold the 160 just in case. i'm running an iron block and heads with an aluminum intake and pump and a 195* with no problems on a shitty stock radiator. of course i also have EVANS NPG+ coolant which makes a huge difference.

I like to run a 180 with 3 holes drilled in it.

I run a 160' high flow thermostat and the engine runs cooler than the 180' that i had in it before. If you are not going to drive it in the winter i would definitely run the 160' the engine temp will drop about 15-20 degrees less than the 180'.

have iron heads and performer rpm intake. just gonna run 50/50 coolant mix.

tony, what size holes have you drilled?

still thinking between a 180 or 195 with a hole in it. my only isues in this is keeping the back of the engine cool and still be warm for fuel efficiency.
