Tach and Speedo wire

Hello,
My standalone wring harness has a wire for the tach and speedo. My question is, do you need them hooked up to start the car? My tach does not work and at the moment, I don't have a electric speedo. Thanks, David

No you shouldn't have to. Worst case you would just get a check engine light.

Dakota digital makes a box that will hook to the speed sensor wiring and has a cable that comes out to your factory speedo. That’s what I did on mine. Very easy to setup and install!! I’m still working on getting my tach accurate but if I figure that out I’ll sure help!
