I’ll look at this week, is it hard to remove the gauge cluster ?It's probably your jumper bar. I had the same problem .You can remove the jumper and solder in a piece of wire in its place .

11rc ? ,will check wireIIRC chevy tach's don't have the 6/8 cyl. jumpers like olds/pontiac. they're different circuit boards. check the wire from the distributor to the firewall. maybe it came loose or something chewed it in two... start there.
