Hey. Got a '78 LeMans and want to add a sump in factory tank. The tank is more on left side of car cause spare tire on right. Need to know if sump should be in middle of tank or on right side of tank towards filler neck in middle of car. And what size should holes be to drill as a baffle on bottom of tank?

I can’t say that it matters where it is located other than lower than the tank. I’ve alway put them in the middle of the tank (from left to right) because that seemed sensible. If you were circle racing this then I’d say on the right (passenger) side of the tank. You can pick the hole size, most anything from 1” to 2” will work. The sumps I’ve bought say to put in 4 1.5” holes.

Also putting the sump in the middle allows for room if you have a trailer hitch.
