Have you had any cooling problems 383s10? Do you run a heater? I noticed that it is 2 different water pump part numbers and the TBI serp. pump says rev rotation. Where are your heater hoses ran?

Funny you mentioned that......I dont run heater hoses in the spring summer due to unnecessary heat in the car but in the winter I switch them from a by-pass hook up to directly to the heater core for heat and defrost. I have stainless lines running form the water pump to radiation by-pass.....the regular water hoses are universal rubber with ridges because that shiney one keep blowing off 😢...........my water pump came from Autozone a friend referred me to a muscle car guy who works there we figured on a 91 Chevy Blazer 4x4 extreme duty water pump to handle for my 406 sbc motor....but I would suggest a after market high flow pump......I had a Moroso but had the wrong depth and wrong rotation. I will need to revist this again with the hose routing............

Yeah it is..........on other vehicles I ve thrown v belts and caused some damage and breakdowns......since I went to this set up no belt issue what so ever.....even though I do carry a spare in the trunk....just a habit I couldnt break......

This is the route I will be going soon. I went to drive my car about 30 miles home sunday and the power steering belt was so loud I got tired of listening to it about 20 mins in so I cut the belt off with some tin snips. I know it wasnt the smartest thing to do but I have had enough. I found a serp setup in a 95(?) chevy truck with a 350 votec (Im also getting the heads) at a local yard. V-belts IMO look cleaner but im tired of adjusting belts every weekend.

Ok thanks for the info all I know is that it said vortec on the plastic air cleaner cover. I guess it ran great but was a flood vehicle. I will definatley be coming back to this thread when I do the swap.
