Im in the process of installing my 2004r into the salon, but I want to install a shift kit first to help the trans perform a bit better with the extra torque from the SBO. Also gonna install the torque converter lockup solenoid as well. Anybody using this shift kit? Any issues I should be aware of before I dig in?

Thanks fellas!

Don't have the TCI shift kit, I have a B&M and its not bad. I did have the TCI lock up kit installed though and I didn't like it. I ended up just ditching it and going with a non lock up converter and the valve to reroute the fluid so the trans doesn't cook itself.

Hmm...what didnt you like about the lock up kit? My concern is that the shift kit will cause the trans to shift too hard all the time. I really only want it to do that when i am stepping on it. I may just modify it as a HD instead of a Street/strip cause im not gonna change rear gears yet so I dont want to wear out the diff too quickly.

Check oot this place: www.CKPerformance.com I have heard nothing but great reviews on them. I just ordered the new valve body and shift kit from them for my 700r4..My MOnte is at the shop now getting it installed.. 8)

The lock up kit was a major pain to get working 100% correct. It would lock up way too early, and it wouldn't unlock when I stepped on it in 4th gear. Which is why i now have a TCI 2500 stall non-lock up converter, its way better. Never had a problem with my B&M street strip shift kit though. it only shifts hard when I'm on it.

anybody? anyone? Bueller?

what stall do you have? will get more out of a shift kit with a lesser stall

AFter getting my car backl today...all I can say is man what a difference... CkPerformance.com!!!!!!!

I have a TCI built TH400 in my car that includes, you guessed it, the TCI shift kit.

I've been very happy with it, as the part-throttle shifts are quick and not harsh at all, and the full-throttle shifts are fast and can bark the tires at will.
