Just converted to a RallyPac cluster in my 79 cutlass. The cluster is from an 80 cutlass if my information is correct.

Everything is working great, except that the temperature gauge is showing way to high of a reading. The middle number on the gauge is 220 F, and max is 280 F. Yesterday when I fired up the car for the first time (with only clean water) the gauge was nearly in the red before my electric fans kicked in (switch designed to kick in at 200 F - temporary setup). And yes, it was far from boiling.

Anyone know if there are several sending units out there with different ohm-readings? The one I got from my part store was labeled TS6 on my receipt. A part number would be great.

Thanks!

OE replacement for use with a gauge is TS71 which is a standard ignition brand. Sounds like you may have bought the wrong sensor.
