so to put a th350 in place of the th200 nothing is needed? i have an 86 bonneville with the 3.8 and when i need a transmission i would much rather use a th350, especially if it simply bolts in

yeah it bolts in. the th350 will need vacuum, the 200c doesnt use vacuum. there are small difference like that BUT those differences are easy to deal with.

i blew up my 200c twice before going to the th350 and i have a 3.8. weak POS transmission. they're great if you drive like you're 80 and can barely reach the gas pedal, not so much if you drive your car like you stole it.

Maybe you're trying to use a Chevy trans(bolt pattern) to a BOP. In that case in won't bolt up.

Agreed its a bolt in. Did it too. Add a vacuum line for the modulator, thats it provided its a 6" tailshaft... And you have a chevy bellhousing for a chevy motor or a BOP for a buick/olds/pontiac motor.

Lets be clear here. A chevy bolt pattern will not fit a B/O/P. Because of the shape of the bell housing. Eg. Below

See the difference in bell housing shape. Now every thing else on those trans missions are exactly alike other than that. Now lets say I had a th200 (not the th200r4). And I wanted to swap in a th350. Than all I have to do is remove the old and replace with the Th350. Its a derect fit. If you want to swap a th200r4 than you would need a different cross member.

You can always use a bellhousing adapter to go from Chevy to BOP or vise versa, I wouldn't recommend it for high performance applications but I have used them before and they work well especially when you have a good working trans with the wrong bolt pattern,

I have that adapter on the Olds 350 in my 94 4x4. The truck has a 4L60E, only comes in Chevy pattern. Just use blue lock tight on the bolts, mine backed out, been good since the lock tight.
