What is your transmission doin? I had one of these trannys back in the day that acted up and wouldn't shift out of 2nd. If yours is similar acting, let me knw and I'll give you the shade tree mechanic trick that got mine going good again.

its takes a while too shift into 2nd gear my fluid smells burnt I just change the fluid and filter 2weeks ago...I drove it today and my fan to cool my radiator is going really slow and my motor is not idlein right...it sound really low I'm thinking its the fan clutch or could my trans cussed my fan to mess up??? help any advice

Get a good TH350 or TH2004r. The TH200C can be built up strong but why? In stock form it sucked, TH350 is an easy swap and much more durable. The TH2004r is an improved TH200C with extra clutches and an overdrive gear.

so a th350 will work and bolt up just fine?
Ok, sounds like your 200 is too far gone for what I was gonna request if fluid smell burnt. Yes, a 350 trans is a direct bolt in from the 200. I did the same when I went to a my current v8 engine.
