I have an 87 El Camino with a Th350 Trans. I swaped out the shifter cable and now the trans is locked in park. Unhooked the cable flows fine. I rocked the car to insure the trans wasn't bound, I checked the pedal switch all the wires are attached. It was only a cable swap out? Any clues, please help. Thanks, Jim 😢

try un-hooking the cable and shift the transmission by hand to see if the linkage moves, make sure you have your car on jack stands when you do this

Tried that, cable slides smooth, lever on the side of the trans is locked. Thanks for the try though apprieciate it.

did ya unhook the netural safty bar that goes from the steering? If so and the transmission wont shift, the pan is gonna have to come off. The selector detent is jammed up against the roller. I seen it happen when people change the cables and dot hold the selector bracket while tighting the cable.

X2 on the detent roller I have seen that before. pull the pan.

Thanks for the advice, I will pick up a gasket and some misc. parts this week and try dropping the pan. :blam:
