Mines leaking, never done one before so what all is involved? Do i have to remove the valve body..ext ?

Kind've a pain in the *ss considering i had this transmission rebuilt :?

You can try and replace the seal without removing the pan. Just loosen the nut and take off the linkage bracket. Use a small screwdriver to pop the seal out. See if there is any sloppiness in the bore of the trans. Jiggle it side to side and up and down. Sometimes the aluminum case wallows out. That is a bummer. If it seems tight, press the new seal in with a socket and hammer. I know it's a tight area but it doesn't need a lot of force..timo

Right on, i mean i'll have the pan off anyways because i bought a new pan, i was having trouble getting gaskets to seal with the original pan.

Got another question thought, my new pan doesn't have a magnet, is it a bad idea to add one?

I have never had an issue with a factory transmission pan unless it got bent up from bottoming out or something. When you get your pan off, put a straightedge on it where it meets the transmission case. You will see that the pan has bumps where the bolts go. Simply take a hammer and hit the holes down flush. Make sure the pan rail is on a bench or table where it is supported. timo
