Yeah it will more than likely be whatever engine presents itself first for the best deal that ends up going in there.

I would go with an LS engine however I was to avoid fuel injection and computers, I'm tired of dealing with them lol.

Oh and did I mention it had been sitting for a little while?

I would go with an Olds engine since the starter and battery are on the same side as an Olds already. Just for ease of installation and keeping the Olds truely Olds. The 455 would give you a lot of torque if that's what you are looking for. Plus suspension mods will make it handle. Find the F-41 suspension parts that were stock on H/O or 442s. They will bolt right on and give it a firmer feel.

holy jeebus! it looks like the scarecrow died in there!

Thats what happens one crawls under the hood to keep warm and you start the engine

Hey I was wondering is there a hood with the W30 style scoops that will fit the 80 Cutlass? Would an 81 hood fit?

Yeah so looks like I maybe back to my shaker hood idea.

However I just found out this morning the hood on my particular Cutlass is aluminum  . Its in perfect shape (aside from needing a good paint job) so I would hate to cut into that if its rare. Might have to scrounge me up a steel hood.

Though if I decided to go with a bit more of a sleeper look the aluminum hood would be a nice way to offset the additional weight of the 455 up front instead of a 350. 8)

I would go for a steel one instead. The aluminum one is VERY rare and hard to find. The steel one would allow you to weld in some metal around the edge of the hole to give it back some strength and look stock. Just cutting a hole without a rolled lip will look ghetto.

If you're gonna cut one up, get a steel or fiberglass one... Then you can modify it to your hearts content.

Too bad you're not closer, I'd just trade you the steel hood off my wagon for yours!
