The consensus( I read) was that guys didn't like the gear split between 1-2 on a 700R-4...whereas the 2004-R had a smoother transition between 1-2.

If you like the ride you currently have with a TH350, the TH200-4R has the same first gear, plus an 0.67 overdrive. If you want more acceleration without changing rear axles, then go with the TH700-R4. I went with 3.73 behind a 200-4R. Seems like a nice balance to me.
