Today was a big day.

The Good: Had a call this morning that our limited release and partial settlement went through, which, is basically found money as its covering money laid out over the past few years. More importantly.... it's going to build a garage and shop expansion after all the envy I've had the last few months.

Site work will dictate the size for phase one. I'm thinking 24x60, but, survey, measurements, materials costs, etc will tell.

The Bad: Today we carried out my stepdad's wishes as far as the cremation being performed, gives a sort of finality to it all. Hopefully he is watching over us all now, and maybe he help make the good news happen.

The Ugly: no way to beat around the bush. They confirmed with zero probability of error: myelogenous leukemia. And they've wasted no time.

At 8pm tonight had my first dose of an oral chemotherapy regimen, get another tomorrow and every 12 hours thereafter. It'll go on for an unknown period of time. Waiting to see what side effects, if any, I get to deal with.

So lots of changes have to happen now. Supposed to meet with their dietician at some point for some general shifts I can make to try to offset some of the vascular risks of this treatment id be susceptible to based on family history, and, we've got to monitor how the existing meds mesh, a few all in the 'serious risk' but not into the highest two categories. So.

Meanwhile, Saturday will be a birthday dinner with just 3 of us, the wife, mom, and me, for the first time in many years. That'll feel weird. But, spoiled myself a bit, was able to get my laptop and pay O. D. Showtime for those cool hubcaps he held for me while things have been so nuts around here. (Even though id wanted them earlier anyways, I figure I earned them for behaving so well at the cancer center today... right? Right?) Once again, easy to deal with, great transaction, fair prices, check his post out if you need anything before it's all gone.

So we'll see how it goes.

Meantime, I'm contemplating alansfactoryoutlet to buy and do the install on a metal shop because I doubt I can contribute much towards the addition. I want to have the bandwidth and strength to do some other things, and, have no guarantee as to what I'm going to be up for. The cars and garden may be my focus, and, hope I can do much with them. Still need to check is the hail got us the other day since we've been living at mom's place this week so she wouldn't be alone through this. Just ran out to the house for 20 minutes in the middle of the night twice.

Crossing fingers and hoping luck is on your side. Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket today...
