My Regal has been put on the Back Burner :( I am now working on my 1970 Cutlass S - 350 SBO automatic.. I found this on craigslist in the Seattle area. I am planning to paint the car matte black. All these cheap chinese parts need to altered to fit. I had to gut the car, luckily the interior was unmolested but it all needed replacement. Then I the trunk divider/backwindow area was totally rusted out and NO ONE makes a replacement. On one of my business trips down to Arizona I found one that was not rotted out. The back window was busted out and condensation did not damage it. I will post more pictures to show current progress.

I'll be watching this one for sure. There's a '68 S close to me that I'd love to have. He's asking waaay too much for it so I doubt it's going anywhere soon. Maybe someday... Until then I'll have to live vicariously through your build. Lots of pics still won't be enough.

I thought I took more interior shots before gutting the car.The humidity is a killer here in Washington State..

'70 Cutlass is on my dream car list. Nice to see one getting restored. And you've gotta love a car with blue interior!

It had the Powder Blue exterior Paint, and it is expensive money pit. Not for the weak of heart or experience..it would have been cheaper in the long run so far to buy one already done.No One makes this panel where the back glass and trunk meet.Of course GM neglected to paint it or undercoat it.

Cool build, always loved these cars. I've noticed that spot behind the rear window rusts out on a lot of them, wonder why no one makes a replacement? Good luck, keep us updated.

Restorations can be fun and a pain in the back end or both.

The 68-72 Cutlass is a nice looking car.

We have a 1972 Cutlass S

Here are some pics of it a few years ago. Yes that was its original color(puke green) It was bought for a $1000 from a family friend and was and is in good condition for the age(there are a few rust spots that needed to be taken care of and the engine needed a rebuild but all of that is behind us. The only issue I have is that the former owner decided to cut into the dash for a CD player instead of running the CD player in the glove box or getting one of those radio mounting boxes :x

This piece at the rear and trunk meet are not made by any aftermarket company's so if you have a 68-72 Cutlass you may want to inspect and paint.

hello; I had a 69 Culass conv. for years and its been gone for years. Is Year One still around? When I had mine they were like the only one with parts. I remember having headers on my 350 and they where a pain from bolts loosining to gaskets and then finally rotting away. I got a dual exhaust from them that capped the y pipe with the stock manifolds and it was 100% better IMO. They're not the best flowing but I didn't have to mess with the exhaust anymore. I still have a thing for that car. I had a w-31 intake I got for $100.00. I forget the steering wheel I had but all I can discribe it as thick black with 3 spokes. I got w-31 diff cover from year one also. There pretty cool. I got a bench seat with an arm rest from a 68. I drove it all year round.
good memories
have fun
