What’s with all the solar panels on poles?

Yeah I believe it is just to power the lights and such

Since the sun is pretty intense here in AZ, we use a lot of solar panels. There are places where the whole neighborhood is lit up with solar panels. A lot of street lights on the main roads and probably 40% of houses have panels on them. My work has a crapload of solar panels on both buildings and it helps tremendously with the electric costs. Quite a bit of 480v and multi phase equipment is used.

Was down by the marina this afternoon, met the nicest, soft spoken elderly gentleman with an white 1987 Regal Limited. Not perfect, but solid and he's the original owner!! He is coming up on close to 400K miles on it, 398,784 to be exact. He's changed the oil/filter on it every 3K, and it's been driven from the Florida Keys up and down the east coast as far north as Halifax, Nova Scotia more times that he can count.

He claims only mechanical engine (3.8L V6) issue he had was a timing chain/gears around 200K mi., and otherwise just the normal maintenance items, coolant changes, exhaust, tires, brakes, etc. The fact he's still got the wire wheel covers, along with the correct locking key floored me!

I have no other proof of his claims, but in talking to to him for about an hour, I believe him.

It's factory Astro Roof so its not like the aftermarket ones they used to cut out hole in roof for and put plastic trim around. The weatherstripping around the glass was pretty dried out, which I asked him about. He says he blows out the drains every year..but does get a little leak on heavy down pouring.

I can certainly relate having T-Tops that have been resealed 2-3 times since new but still leak at times especially where the seams are between the tops windows weather strip and the A and B pillar weather strips meet. I usually keep a few dry terry towels in car if there's any chance of getting caught in rain to help absorb a few drips here and there on door panels, door lock switches, etc...

Missed a really clean grey SS yesterday that looked to be sitting pretty low, I was curious if it was one of the Steelers cause it looked like it had a good bit of money into it
