thermostat replacement

hi all,

im replacing the thermostat housing on my 85' 442 with 307 engine.
im kind of confuse as to what thermostat to buy the 195, 180, or 160
i live in new england.
what do ya recomend?

just replaced mine this weekend along with a new heater core and radiator. i used the Duralast 180. If you're replacing the housing neck make sure the down spout that connects to the water pump lines up right. The down spout on the new one I bought was a few degrees off in comparison to the original so it didn't line up right. I ended up reusing the old water neck since I wasn't changing the water pump either.

Use a 180* thermostat.

Do NOT buy a Mr. Gasket brand thermostat.
