hello: What coolant temps are you seeing with the 180 in the summer?
My fans are set to come on at 188deg F and off at 170deg F
So in the summer with AC on never saw more than 190deg F
I’ve got an Alradco aluminum radiator and new AC Delco water pump . Am running 50/50 glycol - water mix with RMI-25 Additive. I’m impressed with the RMI-25 as it will lower you coolant temps by at least 10deg F

The engine still runs the same temperature. Period. Wouldn't you want the engine to warm up to operating temp quicker??? Runs better, better fuel economy, less emissions, boils off internal engine condensation plus the heater works quicker!!!!!
I run a 195 AC Delco T-stat

I run a 195 T stant too. Ford found back in the 60's that a hotter running engine can last 30% longer. Most wear occurs when the engine is cold. In general, the bigger the engine is and the hotter it operates, the more power it can produce. However, there are many limitations to this. Pressurized cooling systems and antifreeze both rasie the boiling point well above normal.

I went to a 160 years ago then to 170 and ended up at 180. Seems to be the best of both worlds. Runs great and gives some heat.

180 hands down! A cold engine doesn't run well, that is why engineers put in 180/195s. I put e-fans on mine to turn on at 160, car ran terrible until it heated up past 190!
