Yes, I know these are crap trannys, but my car still has one and will until I do a engine/transmission swap. Anyway, I was driving today and the torque converter was locking up almost instantly after going into 3rd, and was a little hesitant to unlock after getting into it. This is the first really warm day of the year. Should I be worried, or am I just not used to driving it in warm weather?

Sounds like you need to adjust the detent (kickdown) cable. They are very sensitive. If not adjusted properly you can damage the trans.
P.S. They really aren't that bad of a transmission. They can be built to handle good street horsepower. Good luck.

The 2004R can be built to handle horsepower, the 200 is pure 3 speed junk. Once it dies, replace it with a 2004R. You only need to move the crossmember back and everything else fits right up.

I'd unplug the lock up torque converter wire for now and then start investigating. If your lock up clutch gets stuck your car will stall out when you stop.

Its all good, it stopped doing it. It happened just after switching the car to premium, I think the computer was simply adjusting.

I know plenty of hot rodders who say the 200 4R is stronger than the 700 R4. Nothing wrong with a 200 4R.
