HELP

Just put a holley 1850, 600cfm carb on the 305 and im having trouble with rigging these cables ... Can anyone explain how to Adjust the throttle cable and the THM350 Detent Cable!!

throttle cable is original from the 307 swapped out

With the carb at WOT, the cable should be pulled out of the trans as far as it will go. Make sure you have the right cable and that it's seated properly on the carb..

Nevermind ... i figured it out!!

Thanks !!

Im having a similar problem.

My throttle cable works fine, but I need to somehow "lengthen" the kickdown cable. is that possible? or do I have to install a new cable? The little connector piece is pulled out all of the way.

The car is an 83 Buick Regal that had the 3.8 v6 but I just swapped it out for a 91 Chevy 305 that I converted to Carb. Should I take the cable off of the Caprice 700r and put it on the transmission from the Buick?

What trans is it? If it's a BOP TH200c I don't see how it fit behind a Chevy 350 as they are usually not interchangeable. I would run the TH700R4 from the Caprice anyhow because of the overdrive feature-you just have to weld on an additional mounting point to the frame like the 1985-88 cars had and use a modded TH2004R crossmember and a custom driveshaft. As for the TV cable to Holley conversion, go to your local speed shop and buy the adapter stud for the bell crank and you should be set for $10-20. Tell 'em what you are doing, and they'll know what to give you.

Im not 100% sure what transmission it is....What I do know is that it had the multi-bolt pattern, and it is a column shift and the gears that I can choose from is (P R N D L2 L1). The 700R only had 1st 2nd and reverse, thats why I didnt use it....it was blown. I already have the little holley stud piece...teproblem is that there is not enough adjustment in the cable for it to work properly. So I need a new cable? Theres no way to lengthen the old one?
