Is there any way to adjust the stock throttle cable? My throttle cable reaches an Edelbrock carb but not the Holley linkage. When it does hook up, the throttle's pulled waaaaaay back and its high, probably around 4-5 grand. Just to let my engine idle around a grand I have to leave the throttle cable unhooked.

What throttle cable bracket are you trying to use?

I have the stock cable hooked up to my Holley 4150 and it works just fine.
I did have to use an aftermarket bracket to mount it though, the stock piece will not work.

I am in the process of doing this swap myself with my 84 MOnte.....I currently have a th 400 transmission and am going with the 700r4..That being said I will need and just ordered a Geometry corrector and tv cable/throttle cable bracket from jegs.
Go to Jegs.com and check out the part numbers : 555-157300 ( Geometry Corrector) this is for the Holley Carb and 555-157310. Got both to my door for $53.00.

You need a different throttle cable/TV bracket.

What Holley carb do you have?

Here's a list of their different brackets available:

On my brother's 403 we are using part number 20-95 since it has a provision for the TV cable. His carb is a Speed Demon but it still works.

I don't think the 3310 is a double pumper friend..........I believe it is a dual feed carb....the 4779 is a double pumper, anyways, you got that pic yet so we can see what your dealing with?? If I knew how to post pics on here, I'd post what I did with the brackets I just bought 🙁

Yeah, youre right. Whats the difference betw. 3310 and 4779? Anyway. How would you conclude one is in fact a D.P.?

Ok. I got the throttle cable problem fixed. I just moved my cable bracket a little forward until it reached.

Carbs can actually have one fuel inlet and still be a double pumper......these have a fuel rail..if your carb has two accelerator pumps, one in front and one in rear, it's a d/b.
