I just finished the tilt wheel repair and i took a lot of step by step pics. I added a few of them and pics of my column lock which i see talked about a lot on this forum.

Aaaaaah,,,, i was wondering when somebody was going to ask that question.
I bought it a long time ago from J.C. Whitney , i am not sure if they still sell them but i believe that the application for it was for a Jeep and also for Gbody's. I paid around $50 for it and it is well worth the money, well built.
 
I have the same type of collar/ column locking device that I bought from a friend about 20 yrs ago. I used to live in NY and parked my car by the train station everyday. I used the column lock daily.
Mine is the same design, only painted a wrinkle gray finish.
They're a hell of alot more efficient than a Club...that's for sure.

Ironically, I also used the same smooth padlock on mine as well.
I still have it and haven't used it in years.

yes it's a good column lock, the padlock is the one that it came with so it must be from the same vendor.
