Manitowoc wis.
Just picked up 4 rims. They are 7x15 with a 4 or could be the 3 3/4in backspace. These and look like the 5 spoke chevy rims. Just wondering what size tires would look good on the 1987 EL Camino. Nothing crazy or over size just good road tires. What was on the rims were 215/70/15 but not sure what car they were on. Pictures would help to see what it would look like.

7 inch is 178mm so anything 205, 215, to 225, 70's or 60's would be ok.

On my one ride I had the Rally II's with 205/70 White Letter Radial on the front and 215/60 on the rear White Letter Radial.

The visualizer didn't have El Camino, but did have '87 Monte Carlo.

Size suggested is 215/65R-15 WLR

215/65/15 is what came stock on the performance g bodys. 235/60/15 is a good replacement for the 215's , same height 26" just a bit wider. 215/70/15 should also fit just fine, about 27" tall. I had 215/70/15 's on my 81 GP for years and had no clearance problems.
Here is a pretty good tire size calculator that let's you compare all the dimensions of different tires at once.

Ok so not to hijack the subject but I love the 87 with the hurst scoop, I just got one for mine and was interested in what it was going to look like, I wanted to smooth the center trim out so you don’t see any of it. Looks great I wish this was a stock item that year along with the lighting rods.

I had gotten the smooth hood trim with the scoop but didn't have anything to match for the header panel for quite some time. I did eventually remedy that situation you can see what I did here, https://gbodyforum.com/threads/cutlass-header-moulding.84699/
