if you go with 15x8 wheels, 4inch backspacing. And use 255/60/15s
... I think you'll be fine without spacers.

I am using 275/60/15s, they require small spacers, and they are very close to the outer fender lip as well. Hopefully, you won't have this issue with the 255s

Im running 15x8s 4" backspacing on 255/60s and I dont have any rubbing issues just to clear this up. At one time I ran 275/60 Mastercrafts on the 15x8 rallies that came on the SS's from 83-84 and it still didnt rub.

my issues might be compounded because the 275s are drag radials, which are soft and bulge more. My brother has similar issues on his Regal.

... but I've learned to go on a car-by-car basis. What works on one car, may not work so well on another.

I've found 15 x 8 with 4" bs will be the best fit as far as tires I have always ran 275/60R15 with no issues of any kind but this is on a Monte Carlo so you have to also consider the body style with each one having a different shape and size wheel well which dictates how tall you can go on tires and obviously any altered ride height comes into play to.

I've seen 17x9 4.5" BS run no problem with one tire but rub with the other. For example, me and a local had the exact same wheels/backspacing. And we had the exact same tire size. Only difference is, he had Mickey Thompson drag radials, and I had Nittos. Mine didn't rub, his did. Something to keep in mind.

I RUN 18X10 WITH 4.75 BACKSPACE AND A 275/40/18

YOU CAN RUN UP TO A 305 WITH A 18X11 WITH 4.75 BACK SPACE AND NO FRAME MOD ON THE REAR

I have messed with a wheel or 2 on a Buick & I would love to see a picture as well.

I have been watching this thread just play out. There is a lot to putting a wheel & tire on a Buick or any Gbody for that matter. Some things I read I just take with a grain of salt.
