mickey-d, The cost of a sbc1 stroker rotating assembly can be very cost effective for meeting the other goals that would normally take a big block to accomplish. Especially if you already have to replace a crank and or buy pistons & rods. You may not see the point or understand it but that mostly speaks to your understanding as to what is gained and why. Building a stroker normally makes more sense for a heavy (by race car standards) street car than what it does for a race application. BTW there is little to no HP in stroking an engine. Briefly Its about more torque and making it at lower more useable rpms and being able to make the same hp at lower more useable & reliable rpms. About not needing a high stall converter or low gears in the rear. No Malice intended.
