not always, my HP laserjet 4350tdn came up with a paper jamb problem. I had already done the fix to the solenoid but I redid the fix and the paper jambs still happened so it's done. My other 4350n has other problems and is on it's way out but I can't complain, they both cost me $100 each and lasted around 7 years. Now the part about too good to be true, I found some HP P4515n printers for $50 each. For the total page counts one has 501 and the other 337 and they both have the original toner. The printers are 62 ppm that were only used at IT shows and now they have been replaced with the newest printers. When I got the 2 p4515n's the guy asked me if I wanted a p4015n which is a 52 ppm for $10, it has a page count of 345. He said he has too many of them and needs to get rid of them. After I paid him the $100 I only had $9.50 om me but he took that so I got the 3 printers for $109.50 and he gave me a receipt. I got the first one set up and it prints perfect, the next 4515n to test still has tape on a door from factory. The p4015n on Kijiji sells for around $250 so we all know where that one goes once I test it.

Who needs to print off so much p*rn in this day and age?

I just printed off a 25 page contract and I need 4 copies. The other thing is the cost per page, I can buy a 25,000 page toner for $85. The lower the cost to print means I make more on each page printed.

Old guys still like to hold paper.

up here courts have not progressed to paperless yet. Some of my document briefs are over 100 pages long and you need 4 copies of that. I have a nice laser color printer as well for pictures used as evidence. All my "tools" get paid off pretty quick and I have a binder to put the ducument briefs together so it's all done without have to pay a 3rd party to do it.

It's amazing how much paper legal offices waste. Not that it's your fault or I'm criticizing. My lawyer must have printed me the transcripts of depositions half a dozen times or more with 100 pages or more (with like 6 actually pages condensed onto each page) even though they were my statements, I knew what I said, and I had read them, and already had copies. I'm sure I got billed for that. There were boxes upon boxes of deps, expert witness testimony, medical opinions, etc.

the longest trial I have done was a 8 day trial, there was a full team law office on the other side with 2 lawyers in court every day of the trial. They were succesful in getting a $1,200 judgment and no costs cause they over claimed asking for $20,000. The mountains of material they introduced which I pointed out to the Judge to be irrelevant and a waste of time to which the Judge agreed The lawyers were nervous cause the Judge almost gave my client costs. My bill for that case was a little over $10k and I think that was about 20% of the lawyers client's bill. ...

Wow. I guess they just wanted to drown you with irrelevant paperwork, a so called "document dump"?

The case I was involved in ended up in federal district court and took over 8 years from start to finish over the course of three rounds. We were literally just days from entering court for a trial before the other side agreed to settle. The federal judge who was going to preside over the case had a sort of pre trial non binding mediation in his court room where he asked both sides to outline their arguments. Asked me some questions, then took both parties aside and asked negotiated a settlement out of court. Was a really bizarre experience for me, I've never been to court even for a speeding ticket, so suddenly talking directly to a federal judge in a federal courthouse was sort of surreal. Of course there was an NDA so I can't discuss the exact details of who was involved and what not.

In retrospect I wish it had gone to trial because I'm certain we still would have won, and it would have set precedent that wouldn't have been favorable to insurance companies making unfairly low settlement offers or denying claims in bad faith. However, I was encouraged to settle because it was a sure thing. I'm not mad, I'm sure I got solid advice, I still just feel a bit bitter about the whole thing and would have gotten more satisfaction from a win in a trial than taking a settlement. I have no feelings of ill will towards lawyers like many do, my attorney is a bad *ss, I'll totally be calling him if I ever needed help again. 😂

I know what the total costs were, but I don't recall if copies were part of the itemized bill. Doesn't really matter since it was on contingency... Whatever they billed was just what I had to agree to since there's no way I could have afforded to pay those lawyers out of pocket.
