Hi guys I could use some help. Not sure how to start on making one. First things first. 81 cutlass 455ci olds solid motor mounts, it needs it bad before the mounts get worn out. If you guys have pics or any ideas the would help get me started. thanks guys.

If you're wearing out solid motor mounts now then you may want to consider installing a motor plate instead. Torque straps are typically used on engines with rubber mounts.

Did you install a solid trans mount when you installed solid engine mounts?
My engine has solid mounts and does not move at all and I don't have a torque strap and it should not be needed on a solid mount set up, I have only seen them used with rubber mounts on the driver's side.

I did not know that I dont think i have a solid trans mount. Ill have to look. Im not whereing out the motor mounts. The old ones I had in the car before, I rebuilt the motor where a thinner steel and had some issues with the torque ( they where alittle twisted. The ones the are in it now are the ones from Mondello and are alot thicker, so im not that worried about them breaking. I have to check but the wrong size bolts could have been put in the mounts that hold the motor itself. Ill have to look at that.
